About Project
Pepchat is a socializing and messaging platform built for communities. The clients asked us to design both the identity and the app itself. They wanted a product that felt structured, safe, and simple to use, without losing the warmth and character that makes people feel at home in conversation.
Our Challenge
The hardest part was balance. The app had to handle servers, roles, and channels without looking complicated, while also keeping a sense of friendliness. Being too technical or too playful was something we had to avoid to achieve the best results.
Our Solution
We decided to create brand identity of PepChat with a dark design system that created contrast and clarity. Next, we made it playful with a minimal smiling face logo. Inside the app, we structured spaces and channels to keep conversations tidy, added clear presence indicators, and designed rich user profiles with badges, roles, and custom statuses. Subtle animations and micro-interactions, like playful confirmations, made the app feel alive without distracting from its purpose.
The final product gave Pepchat a modern identity and a messaging experience that feels safe, friendly, and functional. We made Pepchat easy-to-use and engaging for our target.
